Cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) is a type of therapy that focuses on changing negative patterns of thinking and behaviour. At Signal Psychology, we offer advice around interventions that are based on cognitive-behavioural approaches, but we do not currently offer therapy.
At Signal we believe in following ethical practice around diagnostic assessments for neurodevelopmental conditions and we follow appropriate guidelines (e.g. the NICE guidelines). At present, we are unable to offer a multi-professional assessment in order to ethically assess your child for autism. However, we can offer advice around relevant strategies, approaches and interventions if a child or young person is showing signs of difficulties in associated areas.
At Signal we follow the guidance from the British Psychological Society around dyslexia. This means that we believe that dyslexia assessment should be a staged approach that involves assessment in light of purposeful interventions and support. As such, we do not offer single 'one-off' tests that assess for or diagnose dyslexia, but we may indicate the presence of dyslexia as a result of a sustained piece of casework.
